How Kreator spends your credits?

Kreator always spends your monthly credits first, then dips into your add-on credits only when monthly is empty. This is intentional — it means your non-expiring add-on credits stay safe for as long as possible while you burn through the credits that would have reset anyway.

In practice:

  • Generations always charge from your monthly bucket until it's empty.
  • Once monthly is at zero, the next generation pulls from your add-on bucket.
  • Add-on credits stick around month after month with no expiration.
Credit type Where it comes from Carries over?
Monthly credits Your Starter (or any) subscription No — reset every billing cycle
Add-on credits One-time top-up purchases Yes — never expire

When your billing cycle renews, your monthly credits are replaced with a fresh allocation. Any unused monthly credits from the previous period are not added on top.

Do unused monthly Credits carry over to the next month?

Short answer: No. Monthly credits from your Starter plan reset at the start of each billing period — anything you don't use this month doesn't roll over. The exception is add-on credits (one-time top-ups), which never expire and stay in your account until you use them.

How to check your credits

You can see your balance at any time:

  • In the top bar, click the credits pill (the small rounded chip with a coin icon and a number). It shows your total available credits.
  • On the Subscriptions page, your active plan card shows your monthly allocation and your renewal date — i.e. when this month's credits will reset.

Want to keep credits past month-end? Buy a top-up

If you want credits that don't expire at the end of the month, purchase a credit top-up (add-on credits) from the Subscriptions page. These are one-time purchases that sit in your account until used.

Common follow-up questions

My credits dropped to zero on my renewal date — is that a bug?

No. That's the monthly reset. Your new monthly allocation should land at the same time. If it doesn't appear within a few minutes of your renewal date, contact support so we can check the billing event.

My total didn't go back up to the full plan amount on renewal.

You may have been carrying add-on credits as well. The renewal only resets the monthly bucket — your add-on credits stay where they are. Compare your monthly allocation on the Subscriptions page with the change in your total balance.

Can I get a refund for unused monthly credits?

Monthly credits aren't refundable, but they don't expire in the middle of a cycle — you have until the end of the period to use them. If your situation is unusual (for example you upgraded mid-month), contact support@kreator.ai.

What happens to my credits if I cancel my Starter plan?

You keep full access — including any remaining monthly credits — until your current period ends. After that date, monthly credits are no longer available, but any add-on credits you've purchased remain in your account.

Do annual plans roll over differently?

Annual plans grant credits in monthly chunks tied to your billing cycle, so the same rule applies: each chunk resets and is replaced by the next. Add-on credits work the same way as on monthly plans.
