Create Brand guidelines
Brand guidelines are the foundation of every great asset you'll generate in Kreator — colors, typography, tone of voice, and visuals all flow from here. For this task, you'll create your first brand by letting Kreator extract everything automatically from your website URL or a PDF, so the rest of the platform stays on-brand from the start.
This task takes about 3 minutes.

What is Brand Studio?
It's the home of your brand identity in Kreator. You give it a source — a public web page or a PDF of your existing guidelines — and it generates a draft brand profile with name, tagline, colors, fonts, tone of voice, keywords, and visual inspiration. From then on, almost every tool in Kreator (Image Ads, UGC videos, etc.) can use that brand to stay consistent.
Steps
1. Open Brand Studio
In the left sidebar, expand the Studio group and click Brands.

You'll land on the Brands page with the heading "Define your brand identity and guidelines." If you've never added a brand, you'll see a "No Brand Guideline added yet" empty state in the middle of the page.
2. Start a new guideline
Click Add Guideline in the top-right corner of the page (or in the empty-state card if it's your first time).

The Add a Brand Guideline dialog opens with two tabs: Website URL and Upload PDF.
3. Choose your source
Pick the tab that fits what you have.
Option A — Website URL
- Select the Website URL tab.
- Enter your homepage, product page, or service page URL — for example .
Option B — Upload PDF
- Select the Upload PDF tab.
- Click the upload area or drag your PDF in. PDF files only, up to the size limit shown on the upload area.

In both options, an info box on the right shows what Kreator will pull from your source: brand name & tagline, colors and typography, tone of voice & keywords, and visual inspiration.
4. Extract brand elements
Click Extract Brand Elements at the bottom of the dialog.

The dialog expands into a two-column view showing live progress through several steps (analyzing your source, building the color palette, picking typography, defining voice, and selecting visuals). You can safely close this dialog — extraction continues in the background and you'll get a toast notification when it finishes.

5. Review and refine (optional)
When extraction finishes, click Done in the dialog, or open the new brand from the Brands list. The brand detail page is organized into sections you can edit inline:
- Strategy — positioning and messaging
- Assets — generated visual references
- Logo
- Typography
- Colors
- Customer Avatar

Edits save instantly, and Kreator will use the updated values everywhere going forward.
How do I know it worked?
You'll know the task is complete when:
- Your new brand appears as a card on the Brands page .
- Opening it shows populated sections for Strategy, Assets, Logo, Typography, Colors, and Customer Avatar.
- The brand becomes selectable in other Kreator tools (like Image Ads and Photoshoots), keeping new generations on-brand automatically.
Tips
- Use your main homepage. It usually contains the strongest signals — brand name, tagline, primary colors, and hero imagery — so it produces the richest extraction.
- Prefer a PDF if you already have one. Official brand guidelines PDFs give the cleanest, most accurate results because the colors, fonts, and tone are already defined.
- Don't worry about perfection on the first pass. Extraction gives you a starting point — open the brand and tweak any section directly.
- Add one brand per product line. If you sell under multiple brands, create a separate guideline for each so generations don't mix identities.
- Pair with other tools. Once your brand is set up, picking it in Image Ads, UGC videos, or captions automatically applies your colors, fonts, and tone of voice.
Troubleshooting
The website URL won't extract.
Try the root homepage rather than a deep link. Make sure the URL is publicly accessible — pages behind logins, paywalls, or password protection can't be analyzed. If it still fails, switch to the Upload PDF tab.
My PDF was rejected.
Confirm the file is a .pdf and is under the maximum size shown in the upload area. Re-export or compress the PDF if it's too large.
Extraction failed partway through.
Reopen the in-progress card on the Brands page (or the failure toast) and click Retry. If it keeps failing, try a different source — a different page on your site, or a PDF if you started with a URL.
Colors, fonts, or tone look off.
That's expected for an automated first pass. Open the brand from the Brands list and edit any section directly — your changes save instantly and override the extracted values.
I don't see my new brand in the list.
Refresh the page. If a brand analysis is still running, it appears in an In Progress section above the brand list until it finishes.
I created the brand but the checklist still says it's incomplete.
Refresh the page and check the checklist again. If it still shows as incomplete after a minute, contact support.
