Generate an Image Ad
Image ads are the fastest way to turn a product photo into a scroll-stopping social creative — Kreator builds them from a single image, a short description, and a chosen style. For this task, you'll generate your first image ad in the Infographic style and 9:16 portrait shape, the format that fits TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
This task takes about 3 minutes.

What is the Image Ad Generator?
It's a Kreator tool that pairs your product image and description with an ad style and aspect ratio, then generates ready-to-post visuals in seconds. Each run can produce one or more variations, and every result lands in your asset library to reuse later.
Steps
1. Open the Assets page
In the left sidebar, click Assets. Locate the asset you want to transform, and lick the [⋮] icon on the asset thumbnail.

You'll land on the Image Ad Generator screen with the settings panel on the left and an empty canvas on the right.
2. Select Tools and Create Ad option
In the canvas will be displayed image you previously selected.

Your image will appear in a slot at the center of the canvas. You can add up to four images if you'd like the ad to feature different angles.
3. Describe your product
In the left panel, fill in Describe your product/service with one or two clear sentences. Mention what it is, who it's for, and what makes it stand out.
For example:
A wireless noise-canceling headphone for remote workers — 30-hour battery and crystal-clear mics for calls.
A product description is required — the Generate Image Ads button stays disabled until this field has content.

Optionally, you can also add:
- Offer / CTA — a short call to action like Learn more or 20% off this week.
- Testimonials / Quotes — a real customer quote to feature in the ad.
4. Pick the Infographic style and 9:16 ratio
Still in the left panel:
- Click on the Choose Ad Style button, select Infographic and confirm this action on the Use selected style button in the modal.
- In the row below, open the aspect ratio dropdown (next to the asset count) and choose 9:16 — labeled TikTok, Reels, Shorts.
- Leave the asset count at 1 for your first ad, or bump it up if you want a few variations from the same product.

5. Generate the ad
At the bottom of the left panel, click Generate Image Ads.

You'll see the credit cost on the button and a placeholder slot will appear on the right while Kreator builds your ad. Generation usually takes under a minute.
How do I know it worked?
You'll know the task is complete when:
- Your finished image ad appears in the result area as a tall 9:16 frame.
- Clicking the ad opens it in the gallery viewer, where you can download or favorite it.
- The new ad shows up in your asset library so you can reuse it later in other workflows.
Tips
- Use a clean product photo. A clear, well-lit image with the product in focus produces sharper ads than busy or low-contrast source images.
- Be specific in the description. Mention the audience and the one feature that makes the product different — vague descriptions lead to generic-looking ads.
- Generate variations. Bump the asset count up to 2 or 3 to see different infographic layouts in a single run, then pick the best.
- Repurpose for every placement. After generating the 9:16 version, re-run with 1:1 for Instagram feed, 4:5 for vertical feed, and 16:9 for YouTube — same product, every format.
- Pair with Brand Studio. If you've set up brand colors and fonts in Brand Studio, choosing the matching brand in the form keeps the ad on-brand automatically.
Troubleshooting
The Generate Image Ads button is greyed out.
You're missing one of the required inputs. Make sure you've added at least one product image and filled in the product description.
"Insufficient credits."
The Image Ad Generator deducts credits per generated image. Drop the asset count to 1, top up credits in billing settings, or upgrade your plan, then try again.
The result looks generic or off-brand.
Re-run with a more specific product description, add a short testimonial, or swap in a clearer product image. You can also click Try again to get fresh variations from the same inputs.
Generation failed or "No ads were generated."
Click Try again in the left panel. If it keeps failing, switch to a different product image (clear background, well-lit) and re-run.
The ad isn't in portrait shape.
Confirm 9:16 is selected in the aspect ratio dropdown before clicking generate. The aspect ratio is locked once the ad is created — if it's wrong, click Choose a different product, reset the ratio to 9:16, and re-run.
I generated the ad but the checklist still says it's incomplete.
Refresh the page and check the checklist again. If it still shows as incomplete after a minute, contact support.
